The European Commission will introduce DPP requirements in stages. The first product groups are expected to include:
- Textiles and footwear
- Batteries (portable and industrial)
- Consumer electronics and ICT equipment
- Industrial machinery
- Construction products
- Packaging and plastics
More sectors will follow throughout the 2030s as part of the EU's broader circular economy plan. Early adopters using TraceID will be better positioned to manage compliance efficiently as requirements expand.
